FAQs
-
Parking is extremely limited at the hotel, so if you haven’t booked this already, it’s unlikely they have availability. The cheapest option would be using the Park & Ride, and the most convenient would be parking overnight in the Westgate. For more details: See here +.
-
Update 15 September 25: thank the congestion gods, because Oxford City Council have decided not to implement the congestion charge until November. So no: there will not be a congestion charge in effect if you are driving.
***
Oxford County Council are (irritatingly) poised to make a decision on implementing a new £5 congestion charge across the city, which may or may not come into effect before the wedding. A decision will only be made on 10th September 2025, so we will update this section again soon after.
To avoid a surprise charge, please be aware it is likely to be in effect on the day and plan accordingly.
For the latest news: See here +.

Apologies, but for the avoidance of making a mess someone then has to tidy up — no — but thank-you all the same.
Save your enthusiasm for the dance-floor instead!
-
If you arrive before 1pm, you may beat us to it, since we be officially tying the knot at the registry office (and apologies, only select family are invited to attend this part of the day).
In this case, present yourself at reception and let them handle it! It’s likely you will get taken down to the bar (which is hardly the worst place to start) — but in any circumstance, please do make yourself at home.
-
A great question! We’ve now updated this detailed below, so please: See here +.
Please arrive for 1pm sharp, and plan your travel home if not staying over from 11pm to 11:30pm.
-
Yes! Oxford now allows Uber, so this may be the most convenient option for those already signed up.
If not, we’ve regularly used 001 Taxis + or Royal Cars +, both of which have apps for pre-ordering taxis (or more spontaneous trips if you’re willing to see where the evening takes us…).
-
There is step-free access to all areas we’ll use on the day, so you needn’t worry.
Malmaison has a lift that will take you to all of the spaces we’ve got booked for the day: from the ground floor, you can take a lift to the atrium (where we will have welcome drinks), to the event room (where we will eat and have speeches), and the bar floor (where we have a separate room booked, and which gives you access to the outside terrace).
Toilets are on the bar floor.
If you need help navigating the building, one of the Malmaison team will be able to help show you where to go — so please don’t be afraid to ask.
-
We’ve got access to outside space should it be sunny — but also have access to ample inside space in Malmaison’s historic building, so either way, we’ve got it covered.
There’s no need to bring a coat or umbrella to the venue with you, unless of course you’re walking to get to venue. If you are, the Malmaison team will be able to take your coat for you.
-
Firstly, thank you for even considering it!
Yes, we will have a box for cards, but given limited space in the hotel, we’ll only be able to receive small gifts on the day.
For gift ideas and more, please see the Gift registry + section, which has been designed partly with this in mind too.

Key details for the big day
Running order
1pm | Arrival
Champagne and canapés
Speeches and wedding breakfast
Drinks, dancing and finger food ‘til late
11pm to 11:30pm | Carriages
We are tying the knot earlier in the day at Oxford Registry Office, but have limited space, so apologies, only select family can attend. You will have received the details for this in a separate invite if applicable.
Dress code
Please come in semi-formal attire.
For men: consider a dress shirt or button-down. Jacket and ties optional, but no jeans please.
For women: dress to impress, but no need to go too formal. There is no bride to show up, so you really can wear whatever you like. We’ll be indoors or on a terrace outdoors, so wear whatever shoes you’d feel happiest with, prepared for minimal walking (but lots of dancing).
Travel
By train
The venue is a short 10 minute walk from Oxford train station.
By car
There is very limited parking at the venue for overnight guests only at a cost of £34 and only by prior arrangement (Details here +). UPDATED JULY 2025
Gift registry
The main thing we’d like from guests is that you’re there to celebrate our wedding in style, and as such, there is absolutely no need or expectation to get us a gift. However, we know some people may still wish to get us something to mark the occasion, and so we’ve created gift registry with a range of options — only should you wish.
We’ve created this gift registry to cater to a range of budgets, including some flexible group funds, with options covering upgrading our day-to-day life as well as lots of options to help us make our honeymoon all the more special.
We’ve used Prezola to do this, which we hope serves to make everyone’s life easier. Please note that if you get us something that’s on the gift registry but don’t buy it through Prezola, it won’t be removed for other guests, so you risk buying a duplicate — as such, we’d encourage everyone to use the website wherever possible and avoid going ‘off-list’ (despite best intentions!). Similarly, we’ve given links so people can see exactly what they might be getting us, but please don’t book anything through these links — they’re intended to be for illustrative purposes only.
And finally, we’d like to reassure you that we’ve set it up so that we won’t know what’s been ticked off the list, or who’s gotten what, until the big day itself — so we’ll have the surprise to look forward to and hunt you down to thank you in person (with a hug)!
